Tiruppur district hospitals to receive new medical equipment
Nine government hospitals in Tiruppur district will receive new medical equipment through funding from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The allocated budget for this initiative is ₹2.4 crore. This funding aims to improve facilities so patients will not have to travel long distances for treatment. At a recent meeting led by District Collector T. Christuraj, health officials discussed the equipment needs of these hospitals. They identified requirements such as heavy-duty washing machines, ECG machines, ultrasound facilities, and emergency care services. The hospitals benefiting from this update include those in Avinashi, Jallipatti, Karadivavi, Madathukulam, Palladam, Uthukuli, Dharapuram, and Udumalpet. With the transformation of the Government Hospital in Tiruppur into a teaching institution, the Kangayam hospital became the main district facility. Additionally, Dharapuram hospital has been upgraded to match Kangayam's standards. The patient load varies among these hospitals. Palladam, Udumalpet, and Dharapuram see higher numbers compared to Avinashi, Uthukuli, and Madathukulam. There is also a plan to set up a trauma and emergency care unit at Avinashi Hospital due to its location along a National Highway, aiming to provide better care for accident victims.
