Titusville man faces charges for suspected meth possession
A man from Titusville has been charged with drug offenses following a police traffic stop. Lucas J. Cherry, 45, was found with a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and other drugs on Thursday. He has since been released after posting a $300,000 bond. Authorities reported that Cherry was arrested during a joint operation by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigation and the Titusville Police Department. During the traffic stop, police discovered 653 grams of suspected crystal meth, valued between $15,000 and $30,000. Cherry also had suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin in his possession. The investigation was focused on a suspected drug trafficking operation in the area. The Attorney General praised the arrest, stating it could significantly reduce drug harm in small communities. Cherry is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on April 3.
