TMC Life Sciences Bhd plans to start building the Thomson Iskandar medical hub in Johor Bahru by late 2025, aiming for completion in 2030. The project cost has increased to RM1.56 billion due to rising construction expenses. The hub will include a 500-bed hospital, 400 medical suites, and training facilities, located near the Johor-Singapore Causeway. TMC is also exploring expansion opportunities in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand. TMC's CEO is currently suspended amid a disciplinary inquiry. The company has not provided details on the situation, stating it is following legal advice and due process.
