Toledo man faces charges for threatening Hillsdale school
A man from Toledo, Ohio, is facing serious charges after threatening a school in Hillsdale, Michigan. Kevin Noah Minder, 29, was arraigned on March 17. He is charged with making threats against Gier Elementary School, as well as felonious assault and misuse of a communication device. Minder attended the court hearing via video link from jail, where he is serving time for unrelated charges. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Hillsdale County Prosecutor Jamie Wisniewski mentioned that discussions are ongoing with Minder’s attorney about a possible plea deal. Minder is scheduled to return to court on March 31 for a pretrial conference. He was arrested on January 29 after a two-day search, during which local schools were closed for safety. The charges stem from a voice message he left for the school on January 27, threatening staff and students. If convicted, Minder could face up to 10 years in prison. He is currently being held with a bond set at $340,000, with 10 percent allowed for release.
