Tolentino praises Cavite’s workers and farmers' contributions
Cavite reelectionist Senator Francis 'TOL' Tolentino paid tribute to the country's fisherfolk, farmers, and workers at a rally in Trece Martires. He expressed his commitment to supporting these groups. Tolentino mentioned the need for Congress to enhance support for fisheries and agriculture, as well as improve conditions for workers, including better pay and lower electricity costs. He advocates for removing the 12 percent value added tax (VAT) on electricity services. Tolentino also highlighted his efforts to protect fisherfolk by supporting the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and providing aid to those affected by last year's oil spill. He introduced measures aimed at helping students with internet costs, highlighting the importance of education. In his speech, Tolentino recognized individuals from the audience, including a fisherman, a motorcycle rider, and a student. He concluded by reiterating that the struggles of Caviteños are shared by all Filipinos and called for unity in working towards a better future.
