Tom Cruise pushes for iconic dance scene in Tropic Thunder despite director's hesitation

Tom Cruise's iconic dance in "Tropic Thunder" almost didn't happen. Director Ben Stiller was initially unsure about including the scene, as it wasn't in the script. Cruise, however, believed his character should dance. During a makeup test, Cruise showcased his dance moves to Stiller, who found it funny and decided to include it in the film. Cruise had been taking hip-hop dance classes and wanted to use his skills on screen. The dance sequence has since become a memorable part of the movie. Despite rumors of a return for Cruise's character Les Grossman, no plans have been confirmed.
