Tom Gibney trains favorite Intense Raffles for Grand National

Intense Raffles, owned by Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, has shown strong performances, winning two races at Fairyhouse after moving from France. Gibney expressed he felt confident about the horse's chances after its success in the Irish Grand National last season. Despite some disappointing starts earlier this season, a strong second-place finish in the Bobbyjo Chase has boosted confidence ahead of the Grand National on April 5. Gibney recalled his frustration after two earlier races but was relieved to see Intense Raffles perform better recently. Intense Raffles is a favorite for the Grand National, with odds as short as 5-1. Gibney expressed mixed feelings about being the trainer of the favorite but remains focused on preparing the horse for the race. He plans to practice over the unique Aintree fences before race day. In addition to the Grand National, Gibney is also looking forward to the Irish Grand National on April 21. He plans to enter another horse, Kinturk Kalanisi, who has shown promise despite a recent fall. Gibney is hopeful about their chances as they prepare for both races.
