Tom Selleck may return as Jesse Stone soon
Tom Selleck may be set to return to the small screen with a new project following the end of "Blue Bloods." The iconic TV series wrapped production in June 2024 and aired its final episode in December of that year. Despite high ratings, CBS decided to cancel the show, which led Selleck to express disappointment publicly. While the network is developing a spinoff focusing on Donnie Wahlberg's character, Danny Reagan, Selleck is looking to revisit a character he loves: Jesse Stone. Jesse Stone is based on a series of detective novels by Robert B. Parker and was portrayed by Selleck in several TV movies between 2005 and 2015. Stone is a complex character who battles personal demons and often works alone, except for his dog. At 80 years old, Selleck has hinted at wanting to return to Jesse Stone and even expressed interest in taking on a western role. Recently, indications have emerged that he may indeed be reprising the role of Jesse Stone, with updates appearing on his IMDB page. No official confirmation has been made regarding the new project yet. Fans remain hopeful for a 10th Jesse Stone movie, which would be a welcomed addition to Selleck's career. Meanwhile, the television landscape is shifting as the spinoff of "Blue Bloods" takes shape, and other CBS programs are facing uncertain futures.
