Toonz and 1st Place partner to boost anime production
Toonz Media Group from India and Japan's 1st Place are joining forces to meet the growing global demand for high-quality anime. They announced their partnership during the Hong Kong FilMart event. The anime industry is currently booming, driven by streaming services, gaming, and entertainment, but it is also facing a shortage of skilled talent in Japan. Kumiko, the Founder and President of 1st Place, highlighted the talent gap in the Japanese anime industry. She believes that this partnership will help increase production capacity and produce more anime series and films without losing quality. The collaboration combines Toonz's strong production experience with 1st Place's storytelling skills and music production. Both companies view this alliance as a way to attract major global entertainment projects while preserving the artistic integrity of anime. P. Jayakumar, the CEO of Toonz, expressed excitement about exploring new creative opportunities together. Toonz has experience working with well-known companies like Marvel and Lionsgate, enhancing its role in the anime sector. 1st Place has two decades of experience creating original content and managing virtual artists. Their work includes composing music for popular anime like “Clannad After Story.” This partnership aims to create a sustainable system for producing anime content, addressing industry challenges while catering to audiences around the world.
