Top contenders announced for Cheltenham Festival Day One
The 2025 Cheltenham Festival begins with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, featuring favorite Kopek Des Bordes, who showed improved jumping at the Dublin Racing Festival. Romeo Coolio is also a strong contender after a solid performance last year. In the Arkle, Majborough is another favorite, having won the Triumph Hurdle last March. The Ultima Chase is competitive, with younger horses like Broadway Boy and The Changing Man showing promise. Lossiemouth leads the market in the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle, while both Constitution Hill and Brighterdaysahead are expected to perform well in the Unibet Champion Hurdle. The Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle features 22 horses, with Stencil and Total Look among the experienced contenders.
