Tornadoes in Texas and Mississippi leave two dead and six injured as severe storms move east
Severe storms in Texas and Mississippi have resulted in two deaths and six injuries as tornadoes touched down over the weekend. The storms produced damaging winds and hail, with reports of around 40 tornadoes from Texas to Alabama. In Texas, one fatality occurred in the Liverpool area, south of Houston, while four others were injured. In Mississippi, a person died in Adams County, and two were injured in Franklin County. Damage assessments are ongoing. The storm system is moving east, with severe weather warnings issued for parts of Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Power outages affected nearly 65,000 customers in Mississippi and thousands more across the Southeast.
