Tornadoes in Texas and Mississippi leave two dead as severe storms impact southern U.S
A severe storm system swept through the southeastern U.S. over the weekend, resulting in at least two fatalities from tornadoes in Texas and Mississippi. In Texas, a 48-year-old woman was killed in Brazoria County, where significant damage occurred to at least 40 homes. In Mississippi, one person died in Adams County, and two were injured in Franklin County due to tornadoes that damaged buildings. Power outages affected nearly 65,000 customers in Mississippi and thousands more in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, and Texas. Roads in western North Carolina were also closed due to severe weather conditions.
