Toronto police probe third shooting linked to tow trucks in Scarborough
Toronto police are investigating a third tow truck-related shooting in Scarborough within 24 hours. The latest incident occurred late Thursday, injuring a man in his 20s who was driving a tow truck. He is in serious but stable condition. Earlier on Thursday, two people were injured in a shooting at a tow truck yard nearby. Both victims also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. A dark vehicle was seen leaving both scenes, but no suspects have been identified. These incidents follow a shooting on Wednesday night involving another tow truck driver. Police are looking into whether the three shootings are connected. In 2024, tow truck-related shootings accounted for nearly 15% of all shooting incidents in Toronto.
