Toronto Raptors to debut Indigenous logo by artist Luke Swinson at heritage game
The Toronto Raptors will showcase a new Indigenous logo during their annual Indigenous heritage game on Monday. The logo, created by Kitchener artist Luke Swinson, features two Indigenous people playing basketball, a river, hills, and sacred medicines. Swinson, an Anishinaabe artist from the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, expressed pride in representing his community through this design. He aims to inspire Indigenous youth with this logo, which symbolizes joy and cultural significance. The logo will be displayed during the Raptors' game against the Milwaukee Bucks at Scotiabank Arena. A special half-time performance by Indigenous artist Madison Noon is also planned for the event.
