Toyota Group acquires Portland's Radius Recycling for $1.34 billion
Radius Recycling, formerly Schnitzer Steel Industries, has been acquired by Toyota Tsusho America Inc. for $1.34 billion. The deal values Radius shares at $30 each, a 115% premium over the previous closing price. The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2025, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals. Radius will continue operations from its Portland headquarters, retaining its teams and strategy. Radius has faced challenges, including a $37 million loss in its fiscal first quarter. The company has been reducing its workforce and saw a nearly 50% drop in share value in 2024.
