Tractor accident kills man in Dumka district

A 55-year-old man named Badshah Ansari was killed when a tractor carrying illegally mined sand hit his motorcycle in Dumka district. The accident occurred near a petrol pump on the Dumka-Rampurhat road on Saturday. Ansari was returning home to Gopalpur village from a local block headquarters. After the incident, angry residents protested and blocked the road for more than an hour. They demanded action and assurances from the local authorities. The blockade ended when officials promised to provide compensation to Ansari's family. Police confirmed that the tractor was illegally transporting sand and has since been seized. However, the driver managed to escape the scene. The officer in charge of the police station stated that they would work on providing appropriate compensation to the victim's family.
