Trae Young and Kyrie Irving named injury replacements for NBA All-Star Game
Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Kyrie Irving of the Dallas Mavericks have been named injury replacements for the NBA All-Star Game. Young replaces Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is out with a calf strain, while Irving takes Anthony Davis's spot due to an adductor strain. This marks Young's fourth All-Star selection and Irving's ninth. Young is averaging 23.5 points and a league-high 11.4 assists this season, while Irving averages 24.1 points and shoots 40.7% from three-point range. The All-Star Game will feature a new format with three separate games and teams drafted by Shaquille O'Neal, Charles Barkley, and Kenny Smith. The festivities begin in San Francisco on Friday.
