Traffic diversions and parking restrictions for Chennai IPL matches

The Greater Chennai Traffic Police has announced new traffic plans for the IPL 2025 matches at MA Chidambaram Stadium. These changes will be in effect on match days, including March 23, 28, April 5, 11, 25, 30, and May 12. Traffic diversions and parking restrictions will occur from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This is to help manage the expected increase in visitors and ensure smoother traffic flow. For parking, car pass holders can park in designated areas. Non-pass holders driving themselves can use Cathedral Road to R.K. Salai and then find parking at Marina Beach Service Road. They can walk to the stadium using subways. Taxis and auto-rickshaws can drop spectators off near the stadium via Anna Salai. However, mini buses and special buses will not be allowed on Wallajah Road. They will only pick up and drop off passengers on Sivananda Salai. Traffic will also be modified on nearby roads. Victoria Hostel Road will have only one entrance, and Bells Road will become one-way. The public is encouraged to use public transport, such as the MRTS Chepauk Railway Station or Government Estate Metro Station, to reach the stadium.
