Trainee SI arrested for exam fraud in Rajasthan
A trainee sub-inspector in Rajasthan was arrested for cheating in a recruitment exam. Virendra Meena, 30, was taken into custody by the special operations group (SOG) of the police. He allegedly used a dummy candidate to pass the Sub-Inspector Combined Competitive Exam 2021. Authorities found that Meena paid Rs 5 lakh to Om Prakash Vishnoi, a lecturer at a government school. Vishnoi took the exam for Meena at a center in Jodhpur on September 15, 2021. This helped Meena score well and secure a merit rank of 77, which led to his selection as a police sub-inspector. The investigation is ongoing. After Meena's arrest, Vishnoi reportedly fled once he learned about law enforcement's actions. The SOG is now working to locate him. Additionally, the SOG is looking into other sub-inspectors who may have also cheated using dummy candidates or leaked exam papers.
