Tree falls on NJ school bus, injuring 11

A large tree fell on a school bus in Tewksbury Township, New Jersey, on Friday morning. This accident occurred around 7 a.m. and involved 10 students and the bus driver, all of whom were injured and taken to a hospital. Witnesses, including trash collectors nearby, quickly helped remove the children from the bus before emergency responders arrived. First aid teams from local rescue squads and fire companies responded promptly to assess the situation. Emergency crews evaluated the injuries and transported 11 people with minor injuries to a local hospital. All of them were later released and reunited with their parents. Tewksbury Township Schools Superintendent Jennifer Shouffler praised the bus driver for their calmness and skill during the incident, which helped prevent more serious injuries. The cause of the tree falling is not yet known, but strong winds of 30 to 40 mph were reported at the time. Cleanup crews observed that the tree's root system appeared very weak.
