Trenton police find dead man, injured woman during check
A neighborhood in Trenton is in shock after police found a man dead and a woman severely hurt in a home. The discovery was made during a welfare check on March 17. Police arrived at a house on Elmhurst Drive and found the tragic scene. Neighbors described it as “sickening.” One neighbor, Chris Carney, expressed her concern for the injured woman, noting that she was well-loved in the community. Carney recounted the unsettling moment she saw emergency responders at the house. She was worried when she noticed many ambulances and police cars surrounding the area. "I saw all the ambulances, the police cars," she said. The deceased man, known as Jeff, had a complex reputation. While he had moments of aggression, many people liked him. Carney mentioned hearing arguments but also recalled kindness from him at times. The investigation revealed that there were many guns in the home. Carney commented on this, saying that Jeff seemed prepared for trouble. The community is hopeful for the woman’s recovery, as the police continue their investigation to gather more information about the incident.
