Trinamool Congress prioritizes voter ID issues over meeting

The Trinamool Congress (TMC), a political party in West Bengal, has decided not to attend a meeting in Chennai regarding delimitation. This meeting is organized by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. A source from TMC stated that the party believes addressing the issue of duplicate voter ID numbers is more urgent. They feel this problem could affect upcoming Assembly elections in several states including Bihar, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. The elections in Bihar are set for later this year, while the polls in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal will take place in 2026. The meeting was intended for discussions among eight states, including several others like Karnataka and Odisha, led by Stalin's Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
