Tropical depression Nica forms in Philippine waters east of southern Luzon
A low pressure area in the Philippine Area of Responsibility has developed into a tropical depression named Nica as of 8 a.m. on November 9, 2024. Nica is currently located east of southern Luzon. This weather disturbance entered the PAR early Saturday. It was one of two monitored low pressure areas, with the other still outside the PAR, located 2,885 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao. The weather bureau, PAGASA, confirmed the development of Nica and plans to provide further details in an 11 a.m. bulletin.
