inquirer.net

A low-pressure area (LPA) in the Philippine area of responsibility has developed into Tropical Depression Nika. It entered PAR at 2 a.m. on November 9 and became a tropical depression by 8 a.m. Before its development, Nika was located 1,150 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has not yet provided updated location information for Nika. Currently, Nika is not expected to affect the weather in the Philippines, with fair conditions continuing in most areas. Pagasa is also monitoring another LPA, located 2,870 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao, which has a low chance of developing into a cyclone soon.
