Tropical Depression Nika has formed in the Philippine Area of Responsibility, becoming the country's 14th tropical cyclone of 2024. It developed from a low pressure area that entered PAR early on November 9. Nika is currently located 1,255 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon and is not expected to impact the Philippines immediately. However, it may bring scattered rain to parts of Bicol, Quezon, and Aurora starting November 10. Another low pressure area has formed outside PAR, located 2,870 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao. It has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
