Tropical Depression Nika to bring heavy rainfall to Northern Luzon this weekend
Tropical Depression Nika is expected to bring moderate to torrential rainfall to Northern Luzon from November 10 to November 12, according to the Philippine weather agency, Pagasa. Rainfall may be heavier in mountainous areas. Nika formed from a low-pressure area that entered the Philippines on November 9. It intensified into a tropical depression and is currently located 1,145 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, moving west at 30 kilometers per hour. Nika may strengthen into a severe tropical storm and could make landfall in Isabela or Aurora province by November 11. This is the fourth cyclone to affect the Philippines in less than a month.
