Tropical depression Ofel set to enter Philippine waters on Tuesday
A low pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility has developed into a tropical depression, named Ofel, according to PAGASA. It is expected to enter PAR on Tuesday and may intensify into a severe tropical storm. Ofel is currently located 1,620 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h. It is moving west northwest and could make landfall in Northern or Central Luzon on Thursday or Friday. PAGASA is monitoring four tropical cyclones, including Ofel, Severe Tropical Storm Yinxing, Typhoon Nika, and Tropical Storm Man-Yi. Nika has intensified into a typhoon, prompting the issuance of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 4 in several areas of Luzon.
