Tropical storm Nika prompts wind signal in seven Luzon provinces
The Philippine weather agency, Pagasa, has raised Wind Signal No. 1 for seven provinces in Luzon due to the development of a tropical storm named Nika. The storm is currently located 760 kilometers east of Catanduanes. Nika has wind speeds of 65 kilometers per hour and is expected to strengthen before making landfall in Isabela or Aurora by Monday. Residents in affected areas should prepare for moderate to heavy rains starting Sunday. Additionally, another low pressure area has been identified east of Mindanao, which may develop into a typhoon. Nika is the 14th tropical cyclone to impact the Philippines this year.
