Tropical Storm Nika threatens storm surge in 13 provinces of Luzon
Tropical Storm Nika, also known as Toraji, is expected to bring storm surges to 13 provinces in Luzon within the next 48 hours, according to the Philippine weather agency, Pagasa. Areas in Cagayan and Ilocos Norte may see surges of 2.1 to 3 meters, potentially causing significant damage. Other provinces, including Aurora and Pangasinan, could experience surges of 1 to 2 meters, leading to minimal to moderate damage. Pagasa has advised the public to cancel marine activities due to the storm surge warnings. Nika is currently located 425 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon, with maximum winds of 110 kilometers per hour.
