Tropical Storm Ofel enters Philippine area and may become a typhoon by November 13
Tropical Storm Ofel, also known as Usagi, entered the Philippine area of responsibility early Tuesday morning. It is currently located 1,170 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour. No wind signals have been issued yet, as Ofel has not affected any areas. However, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 may be raised in parts of Cagayan Valley by Tuesday evening or early Wednesday. Pagasa forecasts that Ofel will intensify and could reach typhoon status by November 13. The storm is expected to make landfall in Northern or Central Luzon on Thursday.
