Tropical Storm Oscar strikes Cuba, moves toward Bahamas with warnings in effect

Tropical Storm Oscar made landfall in Cuba as a Category 1 hurricane, causing at least six deaths and heavy rainfall. The storm is now moving toward the Bahamas, where a tropical storm warning is in effect. Oscar was located 45 miles south-southeast of Long Island in the Bahamas, with winds of 40 mph. It is expected to bring up to 5 inches of rain, with isolated areas receiving up to 8 inches. Oscar is the 15th named storm and 10th hurricane of the Atlantic season. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Kristy is developing in the Pacific, with expectations of becoming a hurricane soon.
