Tropical Storm Pepito prompts wind signal in parts of Luzon and Visayas
Severe Tropical Storm Pepito, also known as Man-yi, has prompted the Philippine weather agency to issue Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 in parts of Luzon and Visayas as of Thursday evening. Areas under this signal may face minimal to minor impacts from strong winds. Pepito is currently located 995 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, moving west at 35 kilometers per hour. The storm has maximum winds of 100 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 125 kilometers per hour. It is expected to strengthen into a typhoon by Friday and could become a super typhoon by Saturday.
