Trout Creek woman dies in snowy highway crash
A woman from Trout Creek died in a crash on a snowy highway in Montana. The accident happened on Saturday, March 15, near Noxon. The 72-year-old woman was a passenger in a Lincoln Town Car. It was driven by a 73-year-old man, also from Trout Creek. The car was traveling west on Montana Highway 200 around 8:48 a.m. when the driver lost control while trying to turn. The car slid off the road, hit a guard rail, and continued into a ditch. It then rolled onto its side and collided with a tree. The woman died at the scene of the crash. The driver suffered injuries and was taken to Bonner General Hospital in Sandpoint, Idaho. Investigators believe speed may have contributed to the accident.
