Troy Trojan tennis team prepares for spring competition

The Troy Trojan tennis team is preparing for the 2025 spring season. The team shows great enthusiasm and a mix of young talent and experienced players. Last year, they surprised many by sending two singles players and one doubles team to the state tournament. Head Coach Ed Sedler is proud of the team's growth. He notes that last season, all players were either first- or second-year competitors and there were no seniors. Despite the lack of experienced players, they achieved significant success. With many players returning, the Trojans are hoping to build on last year's accomplishments. Sedler emphasizes teamwork and depth. The Lady Trojan team, in particular, is strong, with eight capable players ready to compete every week. The team focuses on improving together rather than individual success. Sedler believes that if the players work hard every day, good results will follow. Troy is becoming a team to watch in Class B/C tennis, thanks to their dedication and skill. A highlight of the season will be Troy's home invitational on May 2-3. This event will feature teams from around the area and will give the Trojans a chance to perform well in front of their home fans. The matches will start at 11 a.m. on May 2 and resume at 9 a.m. on May 3, which will also be Senior Day. The Trojans kick off their season on March 27 at Mission. Their first home match is against Clark Fork, Idaho, on April 8. The team is looking forward to a competitive and exciting season ahead.
