Trubin acknowledges Manchester City interest ahead of summer
Benfica goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin has responded to reports linking him with a move to Manchester City. The situation comes as City faces potential changes in their goalkeeping ranks this summer. City's current goalkeepers, Ederson and Stefan Ortega, are facing uncertain futures. Ederson has drawn criticism for his recent performances and has been rumored to leave, especially with interest from the Saudi Pro League. Meanwhile, Ortega admitted he doesn't know what will happen with his career after the season ends. Trubin, who has had a strong season at Benfica, said he was unaware of any interest from City. "I saw it on the Internet just like you," he noted, emphasizing his focus on the upcoming challenges with the national team and Benfica. He aims to push such discussions aside until after the important matches. As Manchester City plans for next season, they have already invested in new players, spending over £181 million in January. The club is pursuing other goalkeeper options too, including Juventus’ Michele Di Gregorio, as they prepare for a significant rebuild. Current City manager Pep Guardiola is expected to make key decisions about his goalkeepers soon, especially with matches approaching, including an FA Cup quarter-final against Bournemouth.
