Trucking company owner sentenced for lying in New Hampshire crash that killed seven bikers
The owner of Westfield Transport Inc., Dunyadar Gasanov, was sentenced to two months in prison for lying to investigators about a 2019 crash that killed seven motorcyclists in New Hampshire. He will also serve one year of supervised release. Gasanov pleaded guilty to making false statements, including falsifying driver logs and instructing an employee to disable electronic logging devices. He has been banned from commercial driving during his supervised release and must pay a $300 assessment. The truck driver involved, Volodymyr Zhukovskyy, was acquitted of causing the deaths despite admitting to swerving before the crash. Gasanov's co-defendant, Dartanayan Gasanov, has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting trial.
