In his statement, Trudeau highlighted the strong partnership between Canada and the U.S., noting their shared history and economic ties. He mentioned the successful negotiation of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico free trade agreement during Trump's first term.
Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly and Canada’s ambassador to the U.S., Kirsten Hillman, also congratulated Trump. They emphasized the importance of collaboration between the two nations for investment, growth, and security.
