Trump appoints Mehmet Oz to lead Medicare and Medicaid services
President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Mehmet Oz, known as "America's doctor," to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Oz, a surgeon with no government experience, will oversee a $1.7 trillion budget for federal health programs. Trump also nominated Linda McMahon for Education Secretary. McMahon, a former WWE CEO, will manage an agency Trump has pledged to abolish, which oversees $114 billion in federal student aid and education funding. Vice President-elect JD Vance is coordinating meetings for controversial nominees, including Matt Gaetz for Attorney General and Pete Hegseth for Defense Secretary. Both have faced serious allegations but deny any wrongdoing.
