Trump appoints Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff following election win
Republican President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susie Wiles as his White House chief of staff, marking his first official hire since winning the election against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris. Wiles previously led Trump's campaign operations. Wiles is recognized for her disciplined approach during Trump's campaign, successfully minimizing media leaks and appealing to Latino and Black voters. She has a long history in Republican politics, starting with Ronald Reagan's 1980 campaign. Known as the "ice maiden," Wiles is a private figure in the political arena, rarely giving interviews. She is the daughter of former NFL player and sportscaster Pat Summerall.
