Trump claims responsibility for activist's arrest at Columbia

Donald Trump announced he ordered the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist linked to Columbia University protests against Israel. Khalil was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at his university apartment. Trump stated this arrest is the first of many, targeting students involved in what he described as pro-terrorist activities. He previously threatened to cut federal funding to universities that permit such protests. Khalil, a permanent resident, faces the revocation of his green card. His lawyer reported that ICE agents threatened to arrest his pregnant American wife. Khalil is currently held in immigration facilities in New Jersey and Louisiana.
