Trump expands voter coalition by gaining ground among key demographic groups in 2024 election
Donald Trump won the presidency by maintaining strong support from his core base and gaining some ground among traditionally Democratic voters. A survey of over 120,000 voters showed Trump increased his share of Black and Hispanic voters compared to 2020. About 80% of Trump voters were white, similar to 2020, while two-thirds of Vice President Kamala Harris' voters were also white. Harris' support among Black voters decreased slightly, with Trump doubling his share among young Black men. Harris won 53% of women, a narrower margin than Biden's 55% in 2020. Trump also made modest gains among men, particularly younger voters and Black and Latino demographics, while white voters' support remained stable.
