Trump names key appointments for his administration including Treasury Secretary and Labor Secretary
President-elect Donald Trump announced several new appointments for his administration, including Russ Vought as head of the Office of Management and Budget. Scott Bessent was named Treasury Secretary, and Oregon Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer will serve as Secretary of Labor. Chavez-DeRemer, known for her union-friendly stance, was supported by the Teamsters. Trump also appointed Scott Turner as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and former Congressman Dave Weldon as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Other key appointments include Sebastian Gorka as senior director for counterterrorism, Dr. Janette Nesheiwat as surgeon general, and Marty Makary as commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. Alex Wong was selected as Deputy National Security Adviser.
