Trump nominates Dr. Oz to lead Medicare and Medicaid services
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Dr. Mehmet Oz to lead the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Oz, a well-known physician and former talk show host, will work alongside Robert Kennedy Jr., who Trump nominated for Health and Human Services. Trump emphasized Oz's experience and stated he aims to reduce waste and fraud in these programs, which account for a significant portion of national healthcare spending. This announcement has raised concerns about potential cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. In addition to Oz, Trump has nominated Sean Duffy for transportation secretary and Pete Hegseth for defense secretary. Howard Lutnick has been nominated for commerce secretary.
