Trump nominates former congressman Sean Duffy as transportation secretary
Donald Trump has nominated former Wisconsin Congressman Sean Duffy to be the new secretary of transportation. Duffy, a former prosecutor, served over eight years in Congress and is currently a Fox News contributor. Duffy is known for his criticism of current Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, particularly regarding airline travel issues in 2022. He has experience working with both parties on significant infrastructure projects. If confirmed, Duffy will oversee the Department of Transportation, which has over 55,000 employees and a budget of about $110 billion. He will also manage funding from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law.
