Trump nominates former Soros money manager Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Scott Bessent, a former money manager for George Soros, as his Treasury Secretary. Bessent, who supports reducing the national debt, would be the first openly gay person to hold this position if confirmed. Trump also announced Russel Vought as the head of the Office of Management and Budget. Vought previously held this role and is known for his conservative fiscal policies, including significant spending cuts. Additionally, Trump selected Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Labor Secretary. These appointments reflect Trump's focus on financial leadership in his upcoming administration.
