Trump nominates Jay Bhattacharya as director of National Institutes of Health
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American Jay Bhattacharya as the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This marks the first time Trump has chosen an Indian-American for a top administrative role. Bhattacharya is a professor at Stanford University and has a background in health policy and economics. He will collaborate with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to address major health challenges in the U.S. Trump also nominated Jim O'Neill as deputy secretary of Health and Human Services. O'Neill will work with Kennedy to enhance management and transparency within the department.
