Trump nominates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead Health and Human Services
President-elect Donald Trump plans to nominate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services. Kennedy, known for his anti-vaccine stance, will oversee drug, vaccine, and food safety, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Kennedy, a former Democrat who ran as an independent in 2024, dropped his presidential bid after endorsing Trump. He has gained support for advocating healthier food regulations and has a history of lawsuits against major pharmaceutical companies. Trump also announced Doug Collins as his choice for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Collins, a former congressman and Air Force Reserve chaplain, has previously supported Trump during his impeachment.
