Trump nominates Sean Duffy as transportation secretary
President-elect Donald Trump announced on Monday that he will nominate former Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy as transportation secretary. Duffy, a former reality TV star and Fox Business co-host, served in Congress for nearly nine years before resigning in 2019. Duffy's experience includes roles on the Financial Services Committee and as chairman of the subcommittee on insurance and housing. Trump highlighted Duffy's relationships in Congress and his commitment to improving the nation's infrastructure and travel experience. This nomination marks the second appointment of a Fox-affiliated host to Trump's Cabinet, following Pete Hegseth as defense secretary. Duffy has previously ruled out a run for Wisconsin governor to focus on his family.
