Trump nominates Sean Duffy as transportation secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy as his choice for transportation secretary. Duffy's appointment marks the second Fox-affiliated host in Trump's Cabinet, following Pete Hegseth as defense secretary. Trump highlighted Duffy's congressional experience and relationships, emphasizing his focus on improving infrastructure and enhancing travel safety and efficiency. If confirmed, Duffy will oversee the Transportation Department during a period of significant change, including rising traffic deaths and the introduction of new technologies like autonomous vehicles. He has previously ruled out a run for governor to care for his family.
