Trump nominates Sean Duffy as transportation secretary

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Wisconsin Rep. Sean Duffy as his transportation secretary. Duffy, a former reality TV star and Fox Business co-host, served in Congress for nearly nine years before resigning in 2019. Duffy will focus on improving the nation’s infrastructure and enhancing travel safety and efficiency. He is the second Fox-affiliated host to join Trump’s Cabinet, following the nomination of Pete Hegseth as defense secretary. Trump has expressed intentions to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs for pilots and air traffic controllers. He has also criticized electric vehicles and may seek to reverse policies promoting them during his administration.
